A little about me: I am a Virginia native and have been painting for over 30 years. After graduating Virginia Tech in 1994 with a BA in Liberal Arts I moved to NYC and explored different career paths. Essentially making art always felt like my true north, and I studied life drawing and painting at the Art Students League of NY on scholarship and went on to receive my MFA in Painting from the NY Academy of Art in 2004. After living in NYC for 23 years, I moved back to Loudoun County in 2019 to be closer to my family. 

My interest in being a wedding painter happened when I moved back to Virginia and found myself living behind a popular wedding venue. I started doing sketches from my window of weddings and the spark was ignited. What is not to love about making art for someone's happiest day of their lives?  I was hooked. I knew I was made for this. 

I believe what sets me apart from other wedding painters is that I primarily work in oil paint. I work in acrylics if the event is indoors, which is what most wedding painters work in, but even with that, I handle the paint in the same way I do with oil paint. My goal as your wedding painter is to capture the "energy of the moment." Much like the impressionist painters who worked en plein air (painting outdoors), they were all about capturing the light and the color and the feeling. If you look back on those paintings now, they feel as if they could have been painted today. That is because they captured the energy of the moment. When I am not painting, I am working at the Loudoun Arts Council as the Office Manager and spending time with my kitties and family.
